Meet Dr. Karma Hill

I believe flourishing isn't a luxury—it is the foundation of sustainable leadership.

Today, I help leaders, teams, and organizations create cultures where people can thrive without sacrificing their health, humanity, or purpose. As an executive coach, business psychologist, speaker, and workplace culture consultant, my work sits at the intersection of leadership, positive psychology, emotional intelligence, and burnout prevention.

But I didn't arrive here by accident.

In 2009, shortly after giving birth to my youngest daughter, I experienced three heart attacks that forever changed the trajectory of my life. As a mother of four young children, I was suddenly forced to confront a question that many high-achieving leaders quietly wrestle with:

What does success mean if it costs you your well-being?

Recovering physically was only part of the journey. The deeper work was learning to rebuild a life that honored my values instead of constantly abandoning them. I discovered that resilience isn't about pushing harder—it is about knowing when to pause, recover, and realign.

That experience ignited a lifelong pursuit of understanding what allows people not only to survive adversity, but to flourish through it.

Over the next two decades, I immersed myself in the science of positive psychology, coaching, organizational behavior, leadership development, and human flourishing. I earned a master's degree in Positive Psychology and Coaching Psychology, followed by a doctorate in Business Psychology, where my research explored how positive psychology coaching helps African American women leaders navigate burnout and redefine sustainable leadership.

Today, I bring together evidence-based research, executive coaching, and lived experience to help individuals and organizations build healthier ways of working and leading. My approach is practical, compassionate, and grounded in both science and humanity.

Whether I'm coaching an executive, consulting with an organization, speaking on stage, or facilitating leadership development, my mission remains the same:

To help people redefine success in ways that create more energy, deeper purpose, stronger relationships, and lasting impact.

Because I know what it feels like to lose your capacity.

And I also know what is possible when you reclaim it.

That belief became the foundation of my REST™ Framework and my life's work: helping leaders create success they no longer have to recover from.

About Konversations with Karma

Konversations with Karma was founded on a simple belief:

When people flourish, organizations flourish.

Every workplace is shaped by the quality of its leadership, relationships, and culture. Yet too often, high performance comes at the expense of the very people driving it. Burnout is normalized. Emotional exhaustion is mistaken for commitment. Leaders are rewarded for sacrificing themselves in the name of success.

I believe there is a better way.

Konversations with Karma partners with organizations that want to cultivate healthier workplace cultures, develop emotionally intelligent leaders, and create environments where people can perform at a high level without compromising their well-being or humanity.

Our work integrates business psychology, executive coaching, leadership development, positive psychology, and organizational consulting to help clients build cultures rooted in resilience, trust, connection, and sustainable performance. Whether through executive coaching, leadership development, consulting engagements, workshops, or keynote presentations, every partnership is designed to create meaningful and lasting change.

At the heart of our work is a simple truth: organizations don't transform because strategies change—they transform because people do.

Our mission is to help leaders and organizations build cultures where people have the capacity to do their best work, lead with authenticity, and flourish together.

Because success should never require you to recover from your work.
